Making Math Fun at Home: 7 Everyday Games

By the Print and Learn team · 4 min read

Children learn numbers best when they are part of everyday life. These games need no equipment at all.

  • Stair count: count every step on the way up to bed.
  • Snack share: share grapes between two plates and check who has more.
  • Shape spotting: find circles, squares and triangles on a walk.
  • Big and small: sort shoes in the hallway by size.
  • Car numbers: read the numbers on number plates.
  • Clap patterns: clap, stamp, clap, stamp. What comes next?
  • Laundry match: pair up the socks and count the pairs.
