Count and Circle (Halloween)
Four rows of friendly watercolor Halloween pictures: bats, ghosts, candies and jack-o'-lanterns, with one to five in each row. Children count and circle the matching number from 1 to 5. Nothing scary, just cute fall fun.

Parent tipHave your child touch each picture as they count, then ask "So how many?" before they look for the number. Saying the last number again is how children learn that it tells the total.
How to use this worksheet
- Point to the bats in the first row and count them together, touching each one.
- Find that number in the row underneath and circle it.
- Do every row, then color the pictures.
What your child practices
Counting a small group and matching it to a numeral. The rows hold 3, 5, 2 and 4 pictures, so the answers are mixed and children can't just circle in order.
Who it is for
Made for preschoolers around three to four who can say the numbers to five. If the numerals are new, say each one aloud and let your child point before circling.
Keep counting after Halloween
Sort and count leftover candy or small pumpkins by color. It works long after October 31, and counting real objects makes the numbers stick.
